Calls for Entry

Adams County is committed to bringing public art to every corner of our county. Large-scale art installations like murals, sculptures, mosaics, and more are found county-wide as part of the Adams County Public Art Collection. These large-scale projects are selected through a call for entry process where artists are invited to submit applications for the opportunity to show their work across Adams County. Calls for entry may include specifications as to the art form, budget, and scope of each project. View our open and upcoming calls for entry and see examples of pieces installed through the call for entry process below.

In March 2026, Adams County Parks, Open Space & Cultural Arts completed a call for entry for an artist or team of artists to create a series of original sculptures for a group of medians running down Pecos Street in southwest Adams County. This stretch of Pecos is a gateway between Adams County and North Denver, a busy transportation corridor, and home to many families and small businesses. We received over 150 submissions from artists, and have moved into the jury selection process to select the artwork best suited for the project.

Project Site: The Adams County Public Works Pecos Street Widening Project was completed in 2025. This major infrastructure project was a complete reconstruction and widening of Pecos from W. 52nd to W. 56th Ave. The final phase of the project is to design and install public art. The project site has five medians with seven existing uniform footers for public art placement. Current landscaping throughout all five medians includes trees, shrubs and bushes, rock mulch, and boulders. Artwork footers exist in four out of five of the medians.

Budget: $350,000

Finalists: The following artists were selected from a competitive pool of applicants and have moved to the finalist round of the call:

About the Jury Selection Process: Each public art project is unique, and has a unique selection panel to help advise on the artist selection process. If you are interested in being considered for an Artist Selection Panel, please fill out the interest form on this page.
