Adams County is committed to bringing public art to every corner of our county. Large-scale art installations like murals, sculptures, mosaics, and more are found county-wide as part of the Adams County Public Art Collection. These large-scale projects are selected through a call for entry process where artists are invited to submit applications for the opportunity to show their work across Adams County. Calls for entry may include specifications as to the art form, budget, and scope of each project. The Adams County Fairgrounds at Riverdale Regional Park are the gateway to adventure, connecting residents from all over the county to the region’s rich farming and agricultural heritage. We seek an artist who is excited to capture the energy and heart of this very special place through design, installation, and community engagement.
This exterior mural will greet over a million people yearly and set the visual tone for the expanse of the Adams County Fairgrounds. The vision for this gateway piece will be inspired by a contemporary western aesthetic.
Project Site: This 3,000-square-foot mural will be painted on the south side of the Al Lesser Building. The design will cover seven (7) consecutive textured walls of various sizes.
This mural is part of the public art phase of the Riverdale Regional Park Improvements Project and the Adams County Percentage for the Arts Program.
Budget: $80,000
