What are greenhouse gases?

Gases that absorb energy, slowing or preventing the loss of heat to space. When greenhouse gases increase in the atmosphere, the earth’s climate changes, and the results are dangerous effects to human health and ecosystems. Greenhouse gases include:

  • Fluorinated gases

What does MTCO₂e mean?

  • MTCO₂e stands for metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. Carbon dioxide equivalent is a way to express the warming effect of different greenhouse gases in terms of carbon dioxide that would have the same impact.
