Code Compliance

Responsibilities

The goal of Code Compliance is to maintain and improve the safety and beauty of Adams County. To accomplish this, the Adams County Board of Commissioners enacts ordinances and regulations to address issues that may be detrimental to the health, safety, economy, and general welfare of citizens. Code Compliance enforces these ordinances and regulations for the use of all zoned properties in unincorporated Adams County.

File a Complaint

Please have the location address, description of the violation, and pictures ready before submitting a complaint. Adams County Code Compliance can investigate potential code-compliance violations such as overgrown weeds, trash, junk, and inoperable vehicles in unincorporated Adams County. Please note that all written correspondence is part of the public record and subject to the Colorado Open Records Act.

Common Regulations

  • Permits – Land Use: Special/Temporary Uses, Conditional Uses, Variance
  • Permits: Building(s): Fencing, Remodels, Additions, Roofing, Electrical, Plumbing.
  • Vehicles: Inoperable, Unlicensed, Too Many, RV/Trailers in the Street, Commercial Vehicles, Parking on Landscaping
  • Blight: Environmental blight includes rubbish, junk, trash, garbage, and debris; tall, overgrown grass, weeds and brush (12inches); cast-off material such as scrap metal, plastic, wood, appliances, machinery, and auto parts stored outdoors
