BMoCA at Adams County features sculptural installations from world-renowned artists in the Adams County Human Services Center lobby. Showing the works of new artists twice a year, this program creates opportunities for Adams County residents to connect with the arts in new ways and places.

Current Exhibition: Liminal Courtyard
An installation by artist Lilian Lara
Exhibition Date: June-December 2026
Artist Lilian Lara invites us to experience a space that feels both familiar and unfamiliar in her breathtaking installation, Liminal Courtyard. This installation is Lara’s largest work to date, spending over 800 hours ironing, cutting, and sewing 300 yards of fabric to construct this dreamlike environment.
Lara is particularly interested in the feelings we attach to home, and how, for many, it comes to represent security, heritage, and identity. As an immigrant, she moved between countries and cities, giving her a fragmented sense of home. Through her work, she explores how these spaces are preserved in memories that are shaped by emotional connections.
About Lilan Lara
Lilian Lara is a mixed-media artist working across sculpture, fashion, and textiles. She draws on her Mexican heritage in works that explore dramatic pageantry and fantasy. By weaving together story and memory, Lara creates immersive spaces for multigenerational audiences. Lara has exhibited her work at the Denver Art Museum and Museo de las Americas, Denver. Say it with Flowers
An installation by artist Eileen Roscina
What do we gain from our fleeting encounters with cut flowers as they inevitably decay? Artist Eileen Roscina addresses the tension of the domesticated versus the wild flower while exploring the history of the cut flower industry in Adams County and Colorado during the “Carnation Gold Rush” period between the 1880s and 1930s.

An installation by artist Grace Gutierrez
Artist Grace Gutierrez uses familiar materials to create forms, textures, and colors that intentionally evoke a sense of inclusivity and belonging in her work. In a world that often feels fragmented, this installation serves as a gathering point — a shared space where individuals of all ages and from all walks of life can come together, not only to witness art but also to witness each other.
On display now at the Adams County Human Services Center in Westminster.

BMoCA at Adams County is a collaboration between the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and Adams County. Curated by BMoCA, this exhibition is an extension of the museum’s exhibition programming.
