Experiential Learning Program
Launching in late 2027. Adams County OEM fully supports and is committed to students of emergency management and homeland security. As such, OEM maintains an experiential learning program (ELP). The ELP is designed to support students actively engaged in emergency management and homeland security programs at both the undergraduate (associate and baccalaureate) and graduate (master and doctorial) levels. The ELP is composed of both internships and externships ranging in time requirements and project complexity. Furthermore, the ELP is specifically designed to assist students with the completion of capstones, practicums, term projects, theses, and dissertations which are often required to graduate from institutions of higher education. Adams County OEM can usually accommodate unique academic projects and requirements if provided with advanced notice from prospective students. Adams County OEM can also provide students that have successfully meet all academic and professional criteria with letters of recommendation and verification certificates for volunteer hours, research hours, and other graduation requirements. Internships and externships with Admas County OEM have been standardized to help students and professors select the time commitment and project complexity that best suits their individual needs. These are listed below. Further requirements and agency criteria (such as but not necessarily limited to a background check) may be required.
