Land Survey Plats

Beginning Jan 1, 2025, land survey plats are handled solely by the Recording Department. Surveys are subject to rejection if the below requirements are not met.

Survey Requirements

Recording Specifications for Plats, PUD, Condos, Annexations, Surveys, and CICs:

Each plat brought to the county Clerk & Recorder must be submitted in either an original paper or electronic format and:

  • Have original signatures
  • Have all the original seals
  • Have at least 10-point type
  • Have all legible images
  • Be at least 18″ x 24″ and no larger than 24″ x 36″, with a minimum of 2″ margin on the left and a minimum of 1/2″ margins at the top, bottom, and right side as specified by county requirements

When submitting an original paper format, plat must:

  • Be printed on paper or dimensionally stable polyester sheets, such as cronar, mylar, or any other product of equal quality
  • Be white and without watermarks
  • Be heavy-bonded
  • Have no stapes or other binding
  • Have no impression seals

When submitting in an electronic format, plat must:

  • Come through one of our eRecording vendors (see below)
  • Have a minimum resolution of 300 dots per inch
  • Scanned in black and white
  • Must Be at least 18″ x 24″ and no larger than 24″ x 36″, with a minimum of 2″ margin on the left and a minimum of 1/2″ margins at the top, bottom, and right side as specified by county requirements

 

Filing/Copy Fees

  • Recording fees are $43 per plat
  • Paper map copies for 18″ x 24″ are available at $5 per page
