Even if you have worked before you must complete a new application. This makes it much easier for us to assign jobs.
To serve as an Election Worker you must be registered to vote in Colorado, and not convicted of any election-related offense. You do not have to be registered in Adams County to work for us. Family members of candidates appearing on the ballot may not serve as election workers. All Temporary Election Workers are paid $19 per hour, including training.
Even before you turn 18 and are eligible to vote, you can take part in the election process by serving as a student election worker. Certification forms for student election workers must be completed by the school you attend and your parent/guardian. Please apply for a position by using the link above and click here to access the Student Election Worker application form. You must complete both of these forms in order to work.

In the Community – Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPCs)
(Various locations around Adams County)
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Computer literacy test required if new)
- Leadership qualities
- Oversees all aspects of the VSPC set-up, processes and breakdown
- Assists with Election Watchers and any other VSPC guests
- Responsible for ballot inventory and daily balancing
- Fills in for other positions during breaks and lunches
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Complete Supervisor online training course
- Attend a Supervisor class, Computer class, and a Simulation training
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Computer literacy test required if new)
- Assists the Supervisor with the VSPC set-up and brakedown
- Oversees the use of ballot marking devices
- Oversees the VSPC in the absence of the Supervisor
- Responsible for ballot inventory and daily balancing
- Fills in for other positions during breaks and lunches
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Complete a Troubleshooter online training course
- Attend a Troubleshooter class, Computer class, and a Simulation training
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Computer literacy test required if new)
- Assists voters with voter registration, updating existing registration, giving vote credit, and replacing a voter’s mail ballot via a computer
- Strong computer skills, accurate data entry and attention to detail
- Responsible for ballot inventory
- Confirm correct ballot type and mark the Statement of Ballots
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Complete a Computer Processor online training course
- Attend a Computer class and a Simulation training class
Assist the computer processor in collecting the ballot from the on-demand printer for the voter.
- Assists in repairing the ballot on demand printer from jams.
- Assist with helping the troubleshooter with anything they may need
- Able to work 12+ hours Election Day
- Attend a Ballot Assistant Training
- Attend a Simulation course
- Other duties as directed
- Assist voters with the use of ICX/BMD devices
- Conducts hourly ICX/BMD seal audits
- Work with Trouble Shooters to identify and resolve any errors on the ICX/BMD
- Assist Computer Processors
- Filing combo forms/signature cards
- Able to work 12+ hours Election Day
- Attend ICX Assistant Training
- Attend Simulation course
- Other duties as directed

- Must be pleasant, personable, and professional
- Must quickly assess the voters’ needs
- Provides appropriate forms
- Guides voters to next steps in the voting process
- Responsible for maintaining ballot box chain of custody
- Distributes “I Voted” stickers
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Complete a Greeter online training course
- Attend a Simulation training class
(No Computer Skills Required)
- Must be pleasant, personable, and professional
- Must quickly assess the voters’ needs
- Oversees voters dropping In-Person ballots into the ballot box
- Responsible for maintaining ballot box chain of custody
- Distributes “I Voted” stickers
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Complete a Exit Worker online training course
- Attend a Simulation training class
In the Elections Office (Brighton, CO) – Ballot Processing Operations
(No computer skills needed)
- Working dates/time can vary based on ballot return rates.
- Training is provided on your first working day.
- Operate incoming envelope sorting equipment
- Ability to spend a long time on your feet
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Heavy turning/twisting movements
- Must have good hand-eye coordination
- Basic math and organizational skills
- Heavy repetitive hand wrist and arm motions
(Computer Skill Level 2 – Basic)
- Working dates/time can vary based on ballot return rates. Training is provided on your first working day.
- Use computer software to review and verify voter signatures on mail ballot envelopes
- Must have basic computer skills
- Party affiliation required (Democrat or Republican)
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time

- Working dates/time can vary based on ballot return rates. Training is provided on your first working day.
- Physical separation of mail ballot packets
- Ability to focus with attention to detail
- May be assigned to adjudication, duplication or auditing
- Basic math and organizational skills
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
- Sitting for long periods of time
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Experienced)
- Working dates/time can vary based on ballot return rates. Training is provided on your first working day.
- Scan ballots for tabulation
- Must have advanced computer skills
- Basic math and organizational skills
- Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
In the Elections Office (Brighton, CO) & Driving Throughout County
Training is provided on your first working day.
(Computer Skill Level 1 – Minimal)
- Transport and track ballot boxes to and from VSPCs
- Pick up mail ballots from the 24-hour Drop Boxes and bring to the Elections Office for processing
- Deliver supplies to VSPCs as needed
- Valid driver license required, county vehicle provided
- Verify seals, open ballot transport bags, sort ballots into mail trays
- Must have good hand-eye coordination
- Basic math and organizational skills
- Repetitive hand wrist and arm motions
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs/stand for extended periods of time/ability to get in and out of vehicles routinely
(Computer Skill Level 1 – Minimal)
- Work as part of a team to deliver ballots in group residential facilites throughout Adams County
- Assist voter with reading and marking their ballots
- Must work well with a team of 4-5 other Election Workers
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to get in and out of vehicles routinely
(No computer skills needed)
- Work in a bi-partisan team to close a 24-hour ballot drop box at 7 pm on Election Day
- Pick up supplies at the Elections office in Brighton
- Drive your own car (mileage reimbursed) to your assigned box and bring ballots back to the Elections office
- Must complete online training course prior to Election Day
- Valid driver license and insurance required, mileage will be reimbursed
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs / stand for 30+ minutes
