Adams County Elections Announce Candidate Has Qualified to be on the 2026 General Election Ballot via Petition
The Elections Department of the Adams County Clerk & Recorder’s Office received the required number of signatures for petitioning candidate Glenna Zavala, Unaffiliated candidate for Adams County Assessor, to appear on the ballot for the 2026 General Election on Tuesday, November 3.
A total of 1,000 signatures from electors eligible to vote within the county district or political subdivision for which the officer is to be elected, a requirement outlined by 1-4-801 (2)(a), C.R.S.
The results from the review of the petition are as follows:
- Total number of sections submitted: 115
- Total number of signatures submitted for review: 2,181
- Total number of signatures accepted: 1,798
- Total number of signatures rejected: 383
The petition process involves circulating a written petition to other eligible voters and collecting their signatures in support of candidacy. Unaffiliated candidates must be nominated by petition. Affiliated candidates may be nominated by petition, in addition to or as an alternative to the assembly process.
Zavala will be on the ballot with candidates designated by 2026 Primary Election, Democrat Thomas Swingle.
