Pipeline Information

Pipelines, gathering lines, and flowlines are regulated broadly by several state and federal agencies, including the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC). These agencies collect and maintain all data on these buried lines including their location, operator information, and status.

The County cannot share information regarding the location of pipelines or flowlines directly with the public. Instead, these agencies allow for public viewing of pipeline and flowline information at their respective sites via the links below. Please reach out to Greg Dean, Oil & Gas Administrator with assistance or questions.

PHMSA, for liquid pipelines through the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS)

To use, follow the link then select “Colorado” from the “National View, State or the Federal Waters Category” dropdown and then select “Adams County” under “Chose County or Federal Waters Area” drop down.

PUC, for gas pipelines, gathering lines

To use follow the link, locate the Pipeline Safety Program Mapping System window and zoom into your desired area.

ECMC, for flowline information

To use follow the link, then select the blue “GIS Online Map” button. Once the map loads, select “Flowlines and Pipelines” on the left side of the map, then the drop down and select “Flowline Networks (ALL)” and zoom into your desired area.

Oil & Gas Facility Regulations

On July 27, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved new oil and gas regulations. The county’s revised Oil and Gas Regulations are located in the Development Standards and Regulations manual.
